我們愛主就會自然而然地願意服事神，而且我們的服事並非都得有掌聲，有時反而得到的是噓聲，即使是我們的服事明明散發著滿屋香氣，而非烏煙瘴氣，卻還是會有人因為對我們服事的主失焦而指責我們，甚或阻擋我們服事主！然而這一切主都知道，主會為我們發聲，我們不必說什麼，只要優先次序排列對，要先服事神，才能真正愛人服事人。服事，我們是服誰，又做何事呢？要先服神，事才會做對了。
「馬利亞 就拿着一斤極貴的真哪噠香膏，抹耶穌的腳，又用自己頭髮去擦，屋裏就滿了膏的香氣。 有一個門徒，就是那將要賣耶穌的 加略 人 猶大 ， 說：「這香膏為甚麼不賣三十兩銀子賙濟窮人呢？」 他說這話，並不是掛念窮人，乃因他是個賊，又帶着錢囊，常取其中所存的。 耶穌說：「由她吧！她是為我安葬之日存留的。 因為常有窮人和你們同在，只是你們不常有我。」」- 約翰福音 12:3-8

When we love the Lord, we are naturally willing to serve God. Not all of our service requires applause, and sometimes we even get boos. Even if our service has clearly filled the house with fragrance, not smog or odor, we may still receive criticism. There may still be people who accuse us because they lose focus on the Lord, or they may even try to stop us from serving the Lord! However, the Lord knows all of this, and the Lord will speak for us and protect us. We don’t have to defend ourselves, as long as our priorities are right. We must first serve our Lord before we can truly serve others. In Chinese, “to serve” is written with two characters 服事（fu shi), Fu means to submit, or to serve, and Shi means things. So, to whom do we submit, and who do we serve? We need to submit to God and obey Our Lord first, then we can do things correctly.
“Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples (he who was about to betray him), said, “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.””
