I saw a sign on the side of the road that said "You wanna see social distancing?Loan somebody some money." It looks funny at first sight, but it is actually quite ironic! This reminds me of another Chinese saying, "The rich in the mountains have distant relatives visit, but the poor lives in downtown and no one bothers." If these sentences are visualized, they are very realistic but sad. However some related scriptures in the Bible describe the cause that makes people feel warm and have hope. For example, in Proverbs 19:17: “He who has mercy on the poor lends to the Lord; the Lord will repay his good deeds.” The image of this verse is faith, hope, and love. There is hope for both the poor and the rich, because our God is an awesome God. He is faithful, and whoever is in Him is living in love, is blessed, and has hope.
If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord — and he will repay you!
- Proverbs 19:17 NLT
“If you lend money to any of my people who are in need, do not charge interest as a money lender would. - Exodus 22:25 NLT
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. ” - Luke 6:38 NLT
And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” - Acts of the Apostles 20:35 NLT
