彼得的見證/The Testimony Of Peter

彼得在他年老之際，苦口婆心地勸導，

竭盡心力地提醒及激發信徒們持守真道，

並且，把他所見證關於主耶穌基督的事又重提，

為了使眾信徒在他離世後，仍能常常記念這些事實真相，

他強調這不是捏造虛構的神話，乃是事實。

「見證」是什麼呢？

就是親眼目睹的真相、親耳聽見的聲音或信息

以及親身經歷的事實。

彼得這位屬靈的老前輩所經歷的見證，

讓我們常思量，不可忘記。

由於他的信心是建立在事實真相的根基上，

我們的信心也是因為前輩們的見證而有根有據了，

以致我們有活潑的盼望的確據，

如同希伯來書 11:1 所說的，

「信就是所望之事的實底，是未見之事的確據。」

「我們從前告訴你們有關主耶穌基督的大能和祂降臨的事，

並非根據巧妙虛構的神話，而是我們親眼見過祂的威榮。 

祂從父上帝那裡得到了尊貴和榮耀，

那時從極大的榮光中有聲音對祂說：

「這是我的愛子，我甚喜悅祂。」

 當時我們和祂一同在聖山上，

親耳聽見了這來自天上的聲音。 

這使我們更加確信先知的預言。

你們要留意這些預言，

把這些預言看作照耀在黑暗中的明燈，

一直到天破曉、晨星在你們心中升起。 

你們首先該知道：聖經上的一切預言都不可隨人的私意解釋， 

因為預言絕非出於人的意思，

都是人受了聖靈的感動，講出上帝的信息。」

彼得後書 1:16-21 CCB

Peter, in his old age, he persuaded wholeheartedly

 trying to remind and inspire all the believers to stick to the truth.

Furthermore, he brought up things he had witnessed 

about the Lord Jesus Christ,

 in order for the believers to remember these facts after he pass away.

He emphasized that this is not a fabricated myth, but a fact.

 What is "testimony"?

 It’s the truth that one has witnessed, 

the sound, voice or information one has heard,

 and the facts from one’s personal experience.

 The testimony of Peter, a spiritual elder,

 let us think always and not forgetting about it.

 Since his faith was based on truth,

so is our faith based on the truth,

because of having the testimonies of all our predecessors.

 Therefore, we have the assurance of living hope.

 As Hebrews 11:1 says,

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, 

the conviction of things not seen.”

“For we were not making up clever stories 

when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

 We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes

 when he received honor and glory from God the Father.

 The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, 

“This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” 

We ourselves heard that voice from heaven

 when we were with him on the holy mountain. 

Because of that experience, 

we have even greater confidence

 in the message proclaimed by the prophets. 

You must pay close attention to what they wrote, 

for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—

until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. 

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture

 ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, 

or from human initiative. 

No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit,

 and they spoke from God.”
