There is a Chinese jingle goes like this "a bottle of water does not sound, half bottle of water slosh", which reminds me of what Proverbs 13:16 says, “Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool flaunts his folly. ” Prudent people are humble, wise, able to discern and listen to advice. They are able to judge and evaluate the situation, do not insist on their own opinions, so they are able to broaden their knowledge. On the contrary, foolish people are arrogant, do not seek for understanding, ignorant and do not listen to advice, but love to express their own foolish opinions. I hope we all can be humble and able to receive, especially in the pursuit of truth. This will be beneficial to our spiritual growth.
“A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash.
The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking; the mouth of the wicked overflows with evil words.
If you reject discipline, you only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding. Fear of the Lord teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor.”
Proverbs 15:14, 28, 32-33 NLT
