舊事已過/The Old Has Gone
許多人都聽過使徒彼得三次不認主的故事。
在事發之前，他是多麼地信誓旦旦地告訴主，他即使是為主而死都甘心啊！
他的信誓旦旦是當下對主無庸置疑的愛。
在客西馬尼園就是主被逮捕的那一夜，彼得也沒有退縮，
而是勇猛地用他的武器對抗敵人，試圖保護主，我相信他在那個當下是愛主的；
然而，當主自願被捕之後，他一時慌了，為保命而在雞鳴以前三次不認主，
當他醒悟的時候他是多麼羞愧難過啊！
然而，主在之前提醒了他，之後也沒有責怪他，沒有舊事重提，
而是問他：「你愛我嗎？」並且仍然使用他去餵養主的羊。
彼得沒有活在過去咎責中，而是感恩主的赦免，完成主所託付。
只要我們回轉，主不看我們的過去，
主也不是呼召完全人來事奉祂，而是呼召全心全意愛祂的人。
如果神要究察，誰能站立得住呢？
然而，得赦免其過，遮蓋其罪的我們是何等有福，
感謝神！彼得的範例成為我莫大的激勵。
「主又說 ：「 西門 ！ 西門 ！撒但想要得着你們，好篩你們像篩麥子一樣；
但我已經為你祈求，叫你不至於失了信心。你回頭以後，要堅固你的弟兄。」
彼得 說：「主啊，我就是同你下監，同你受死，也是甘心！」
耶穌說：「 彼得 ，我告訴你，今日雞還沒有叫，你要三次說不認得我。」」
路加福音 22:31-34 CUNP-神
「彼得就發咒起誓地說：「我不認得你們說的這個人。」
立時雞叫了第二遍。 彼得想起耶穌對他所說的話：
「雞叫兩遍以先，你要三次不認我。」思想起來，就哭了。」
馬可福音 14:71-72 CUNP-神
「耶穌從死裏復活以後，向門徒顯現，這是第三次。 他們吃完了早飯，
耶穌對西門‧彼得 說：「 約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深嗎？」 彼得說：「主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。」耶穌對他說：「你餵養我的小羊。」
耶穌第二次又對他說：「 約翰的兒子西門 ，你愛我嗎？」
彼得說：「主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。」耶穌說：「你牧養我的羊。」
第三次對他說：「 約翰的兒子西門 ，你愛我嗎？」
彼得因為耶穌第三次對他說「你愛我嗎」，就憂愁，
對耶穌說：「主啊，你是無所不知的；你知道我愛你。」
耶穌說：「你餵養我的羊。」
約翰福音 21:14-17 CUNP-神
「若有人在基督裏，他就是新造的人，舊事已過，都變成新的了。」

Many people have heard the story of apostle Peter denying the Lord three times.
Before the incident, how confidently he had told the Lord
that he was willing to even die for the Lord!
His vows were the unquestionable love for the Lord at the moment.
Peter did not flinch on the night the Lord was arrested in Gethsemane.
Instead, he bravely used his weapon to against the enemies,
and tried to protect the Lord. I believe he loved the Lord at that moment.
However, after the Lord was arrested willingly, Peter was panicked.
And in order to save his own life, he denied the Lord three times
before the rooster crowed.
How ashamed and sad he was when he realized what he has done.
However, the Lord reminded him beforehand,
and did not blame him afterwards, nor brought up the past again.
Instead, the Lord asked him three times: "Do you love me?"
And still used him to feed the Lord's sheep.
Peter did not live in the guilt of the past,
but thanked the Lord for his forgiveness
and fulfilled what the Lord has entrusted him.
As long as we turn back to the Lord, the Lord will not look at our past.
The Lord does not call the perfect man to serve him,
but to call people who love him with all their hearts.
If God marks iniquity, who could stand?
However, how blessed are we whose transgressions are forgiven,
and sins are covered!
Thank God! Peter's example is a great encouragement for me.
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you,
that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you
that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again,
strengthen your brothers.” Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you
both to prison and to death.” Jesus said, “I tell you, Peter,
the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me.”
Luke 22:31-34 ESV
“But he began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, “I do not know this man of whom you speak.”
And immediately the rooster crowed a second time. And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him,
“Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” And he broke down and wept.”
Mark 14:71-72 ESV
“This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples
after he was raised from the dead. When they had finished breakfast,
Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John,
do you love me more than these?” He said to him,
“Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.”
He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time,
“Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because
he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?”
and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything;
you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.”
