遠離/Turn Away
劉備臨終留給他兒子的遺言中有一句「勿以惡小而為之， 勿以善小而不為。」
說的直白就是不要以為是比較小的壞事就去做，也不要因為善事太小而不做。
這讓我們看到的是為父者為了孩子的益處，而苦口婆心地諄諄教誨著。
我們天上的父豈不更知道什麼是對我們最有益的嘛！
因為重要，所以在神給我們的話語當中重複地強調要我們遠離惡事。
人若敬畏神自然就會遠離惡，因此，可以防範我們生命落入破窗效應。
“他對人說：敬畏主就是智慧； 遠離惡便是聰明。” - 約伯記 28:28
“不要自以為有智慧； 要敬畏耶和華，遠離惡事。” - 箴言 3:7
“智慧人懼怕，就遠離惡事； 愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。” - 箴言 14:16
“當遠離虛假的事。不可殺無辜和有義的人，
因我必不以惡人為義。” - 出埃及記 23:7
“耶和華遠離惡人， 卻聽義人的禱告。” - 箴言 15:29
A Chinese warlord, Liu Bei, left his famous last words to his son on his deathbed. He said, “Do not commit an evil act just because it is small in scale. Do not fail to commit an act of kindness just because it is small in scale.”
What we see here is a father’s advice for the benefit of his child.
He is earnestly giving his advice, even on his deathbed.
Wouldn’t our Heavenly Father also know what is best for us?
Because it is important, God’s Word repeatedly emphasizes
that we should stay away from evil.
If one is in awe of God, one will naturally stay away from evil.
Therefore, by staying away from evil,
we can keep our lives from falling into the broken window effect.
“And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”” - Job 28:28 ESV
“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord,
and turn away from evil.” - Proverbs 3:7 ESV
“One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil,
but a fool is reckless and careless.” - Proverbs 14:16 ESV
“Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent
and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.” - Exodus 23:7 ESV
“The Lord is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” - Proverbs 15:29 ESV
