Do you get it?
If a person comes to a conclusion about things they know very little about,
they may impose their own view on others based on their own standards.
Such a person will inevitably reveal their narrow mindedness
just like the frog at the bottom of the well. If one has no experience with certain things,
he denies the experience and actual feelings of others.
This will inevitably reveal their lack of empathy, ignorance,
and lack of compassion and care for others.
For example: A person who has never experienced a headache before
said to someone suffering from migraine, "There is no such thing as a headache.
Since I have never had a headache, you must imagining it!
If you lived your life like I do, then you would never have headaches."
If a person only likes to talk about themselves, and they don't want to listen to others,
or give others the opportunity to speak, then they will lose the opportunity to fellowship,
and to increase their knowledge! We have to be careful of this in our daily lives,
but even more so in our spiritual lives! God created mankind with two ears,
and one mouth. It is meant for us to be "quick to listen and slow to speak."
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient,
bearing with one another in love.”
- Ephesians 4:2 NIV
“Stay away from fools,
for you won’t find knowledge on their lips.”
- Proverbs 14:7 NLT
“The woman named Folly is brash.
She is ignorant and doesn’t know it.”
- Proverbs 9:13 NLT
“Wise people think before they act;
fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.”
- Proverbs 13:16 NLT
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools,
but like those who are wise.”
- Ephesians 5:15 NLT
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;
then peace-loving, considerate, submissive,
full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
- James 3:17 NIV
