話語一說出口就舉足輕重，至關重要，所以中國有許多這方面的成語，例如：「一言既出，駟馬難追。」，「一諾千金」，「一言九鼎」，也有俚語形容「說出去的話是潑出去的水」，所以話語一出如覆水難收，我們不單單是要三思而行也要三思而後言。

Words are important as soon as they are spoken, so Chinese has a lot of idioms in this area, such as: " A word once spoken can never be chased back by a four-horse-carriage ( this means that it can never be recalled)," “A promise weighs thousand golds,” “A word spoken is like nine heavy caldrons.” Also, “The words spoken are like water spilled out," so once the words were out, it's hard to recall. Therefore we not only think three times before we act, but we should also think three times before we speak.
