Please read Chapter 5 of Book of John. The Lord Jesus explained who He is to the Jews who wanted to persecute Him. What he said here is very clear. He has not only claimed who he is , but he has provided witnesses. People’s choice is to believe or not to. I chose to believe.

“After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed.

One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath. So the Jews said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not lawful for you to take up your bed.” But he answered them, “The man who healed me, that man said to me, ‘Take up your bed, and walk.’ ” They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, as there was a crowd in the place.

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you.” The man went away and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had healed him. And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. “Truly, truly, I say to you, an hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true. You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. Not that the testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light. But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me. And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen, and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. I do not receive glory from people. But I know that you do not have the love of God within you. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?””John 5:1-3, 5-47 ESV

“It’s dangerous theology to describe every difficulty as something God intended to make us grow, but it’s equally risky to say that God never puts us through a test to strengthen us. The knowledge that His strength is with us, and that we can come out stronger, holds in it the power to separate us from our need to know, “God, how could you let this happen?” In other words, when God doesn’t make sense, maybe it’s okay. Maybe it’s enough to know He’s Immanuel, God With Us, and He has the power to turn what’s hard for us into what’s good for us.” - Life Church

「Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.」James 1:12-15 ESV

「“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).」Matthew 1:23 ESV

“And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”Nehemiah 8:10b ESV
「The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.“Psalm 28:7-8 ESV

God's word has great wisdom and power. Those who seek and obey his word are filled with his wisdom in their hearts, therefore their mouths radiate wisdom and they speak with gentleness and grace. Our words also carry power. May we all be filled with the great wisdom of God. May we speak with the words of wisdom and life which builds up people, instead of preaching foolishness and destroying words. Of course, sometimes we must speak the truth with love but our motivation is crucial . It’s for love and for righteousness, not for words of anger and impulsiveness. We must always examine ourselves, because in the future we will have to give an account to the all-knowing, all present and all-mighty God.

“The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice. The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip. ”Psalm 37:30-31 ESV

“The words of a wise man’s mouth win him favor, but the lips of a fool consume him. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness, and the end of his talk is evil madness.”
Ecclesiastes 10:12-13 ESV

“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”
Proverbs 16:24 ESV

“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”Proverbs 30:5 ESV

“That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.”Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NLT

When you are caught in a dilemma and do not know how to choose, think of your first love for the Lord Jesus Christ and his salvation. The Holy Spirit will guide you, and you will have peace in your heart to make wise decisions.

「Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?」Romans 6:16 ESV

「And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”」Joshua 24:15 ESV

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”~Romans 12:1 NIV

We can give others what we have, but we cannot give others what we don't have. Even if a person memorizes the Bible thoroughly, but does not obey the Word of God, it does not renew and transform their mind. Such a person cannot bear the fruit of the spirit in their life. Thus one cannot give others love, kindness...etc. Even if we have received the grace of salvation from the Lord Jesus, we may still not understand what grace is. On the contrary, we will be like the person who owes millions of dollars to the King in the metaphor we see in the Book of Matthew. The King forgave his debt, but he turned around to arrest the one who owed him few thousand dollars. He had no mercy, and no grace toward others. We can disagree with the mistakes people make because of their sinful nature, but we can still treat them with mercy and grace. The premise is that we must let the power of the gospel transform us. The Bible is not to be memorized but to be lived out as the Word of God. Otherwise, we will inevitably fall into legalism like the Pharisees.

“For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. .........
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”
Galatians 6:3, 7 ESV

““Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt. “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment. “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.” Matthew 18:23-30 NLT

「Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.」
Galatians 5:25 NLT

「But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.」Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

__________

Some people are quick-tempered like a storm, and they get angry at any little things and they lack self control. Some of this may be caused by physical problems, such as menopause, or thyroid disorders. Some may be from the lack of knowledge, or a subconscious issue. Their arrogance or prejudice may cause them to lack tolerance, so they are easily irritated. Some people are angry for justice sake. There may be other reasons to make people angry. However, brothers and sisters in the Christ, we must listen to the Word of God, be careful in our words, and be slow to get angry. God created us to have emotions, and God allows us to be angry, but he does not want us to do evil. The Apostle Paul also warns us to not sin by letting our anger control us. Although we are not perfect but in God there is perfect love and grace.

“Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.”Psalms 37:8 NLT

“Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.”
Proverbs 16:32 NLT

“People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.”Proverbs 14:29 NLT

“Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights.”
2 Timothy 2:23 NLT

“And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,...... Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.”Ephesians 4:26, 31 NLT

“If a wise person takes a fool to court, there will be ranting and ridicule but no satisfaction.
Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back. There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking.” Proverbs 29:9, 11, 20 NLT

People often ask how we can know our gifts and calling. In fact, as long as we realize that the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ is to set us free, we will no longer be slaves to sin and slaves of this world. Because our Lord redeemed us, he is our Lord. Although he calls us friends. We ought to know that we, as servants, ought to serve. We follow the teachings of his Word, so even if we don’t know our gifts and callings, we have already served with our gifts unconsciously. As we grow more mature spiritually, it will be revealed to us more clearly . So don’t rush to know what your gifts are, but focus on pursuing to know God. Build a closer relationship with our Lord our God.

“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ””Acts 20:35 ESV

“When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. John 13:12-17 ESV

“whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”1 Peter 4:11 ESV

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”Deuteronomy 6:5 ESV

“Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules.”Psalm 119:164 ESV
