當我們陷在痛苦之中，我們要察驗反省，到底我們所經歷的痛苦是為甚麼緣故，若是為真理所受的痛苦，是以耶穌基督為榜樣，為愛而付出，犧牲受苦，甘願受損，實際上卻是對我們有益，可以塑造我們的品格，我們會有屬靈的成長並且將有來自神的獎賞。而為虛浮所受的痛苦，是以自我為中心，欲求不滿，認為私利受損，只會被私慾牽引，陷在其中，不單自己白受苦痛，若是被惡念所勝而引致犯罪，最後會傷人傷己。願我們都有屬天的智慧懂得分辨、反省並回轉仰望神，不要被惡所勝。
「不要以惡報惡，眾人以為美的事要留心去做。」羅馬書 12:17
「不要被惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。」羅馬書 12: 21
「不要以惡報惡，以辱罵還辱罵，倒要祝福，因為你們正是為此蒙召的，好使你們承受福氣。」彼得前書 3:9
「即使你們為義受苦，也是有福的。不要怕人的威嚇，也不要驚慌；」彼得前書 3:14
「上帝的旨意若是要你們因行善受苦，這總比因行惡受苦好。」彼得前書 3:17
When we are in pain of suffering, we need to examine and reflect on what is the reason for the pain we are experiencing. If it is suffering for the truth, we are following Jesus Christ as an example to give, sacrifice, and suffer for love, and be willing to suffer for loss. In fact, it is good for us, because it can shape our character, we will grow spiritually and we will have rewards from God. The suffering for vanity comes from being self-centered. It leads to being dissatisfied, and one believes that their self-interest is damaged. And, one will only be drawn by their own desires and be trapped by them. People not only hurt themselves, but others as well when they are overcome by evil. May we all have heavenly wisdom to know how to discern, reflect, and turn our focus on God, and not to be overcome by evil.
