撒旦（魔鬼）是謊言之父，牠以扭曲的世界價值觀來捆綁世人。想要得到真自由，唯有認識真理，並接受真理，別無它法，唯有以真理抵擋謊言，才能不再被捆綁。真理就是神的道，聖經是神的道，是神所啟示的。
「你們是出於你們的父魔鬼，你們寧願隨著你們父的慾念而行。牠從起初就是殺人的，不守真理，因牠心裏沒有真理。牠說謊是出於自己的本性，因牠本來是說謊的，也是說謊者之父。」

Satan (the devil) is the father of lies. He binds (seizes) humans with the distorted values of his worldly view. The only way to get true freedom from this, is by knowing the truth and accepting it. Only truth can resist lies, so that you can no longer be bounded by them. Truth is the word of God, and the Bible is the word of God, and is inspired by God.
“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
