即或不然/Even If Not

這是今年的最後一天，多事之秋的一年即將過去。 

未來一年又將如何我不知道，然而，我知道的是 - 

當我們的眼目是仰望那創造宇宙萬物的主宰，三位一體的唯一真神時，

我們經歷的是出人意外的平安，我們知道我們是有指望，有盼望的。

盼望不是侷限於疫情快快過去，

而是，即或不然

我們仍然能夠像使徒保羅說的那樣：

「我並不是因缺乏說這話；我無論在甚麼景況都可以知足，這是我已經學會了。 

我知道怎樣處卑賤，也知道怎樣處豐富；或飽足，或飢餓；或有餘，或缺乏，

隨事隨在，我都得了秘訣。 我靠着那加給我力量的，凡事都能做。」

（腓立比書 4:11-13 ）

所以我們不要憂愁，只要凡事謝恩，讚美主，

因從我們的主所得的喜樂是我們的力量。

“求祢照着祢使我們受苦的日子， 

和我們遭難的年歲，叫我們喜樂。”

-詩篇 90:15 

“祢以恩典為年歲的冠冕； 祢的路徑都滴下脂油，”

「耶和華說：我知道我向你們所懷的意念是賜平安的意念，

不是降災禍的意念，要叫你們末後有指望。

This is the last day of the year, and this eventful year is about to pass.

 I don’t know what the next year will bring. 

However, what we do know is -

 When our eyes are fixed upon the only true and triune God,

 the Lord who created all things in the universe,

 what we experience is peace and we know that we have hope.

 This hope is not confined to hoping the pandemic will get over soon, 

but, even if not, 

we can be like the apostle Paul said: “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.

 I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”(Philippians 4:11-13) 

So let’s not be sorrowful, just give thanks in everything and praise the Lord,

 because the joy from our Lord is our strength.

“You crown the year with your bounty; 

your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.”

- Psalm 65:11 ESV

“Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, 

and for as many years as we have seen evil.”

- Psalm 90:15 ESV

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,

 plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, 

and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, 

when you seek me with all your heart.”

生命冊/Book of Life

2020年是不可思議的一年，因為新冠病毒造成的全球性疫情，無一國不為之驚慌，無一人不為之生活受影響；有不少為之喪命的，甚至連好好安葬或追思會都沒有。聖經詩篇 103:15-16這樣形容人的年日：“至於世人，他的年日如草一樣。 他發旺如野地的花， 經風一吹，便歸無有； 它的原處也不再認識它。” 當我們形體盡毀，消失無蹤，被世人遺忘，不被紀念或認識，這都不是最重要的事情，最重要的是我們的名字要在生命冊上，神認得我們，而我們有永生與神同在永世裡，而不是在永遠與神隔絕的永刑裡。而在今生，神也會認得並眷顧敬畏祂的人，從每一個歲首到年終，敬畏祂的人是何等有福的。

“是耶和華－你神所眷顧的；從歲首到年終，

耶和華－你神的眼目時常看顧那地。”

- 申命記 11:12 

“耶和華的眼目看顧敬畏祂的人和仰望祂慈愛的人，”

- 詩篇 33:18

“因為，主的眼看顧義人； 主的耳聽他們的祈禱。

 惟有行惡的人，主向他們變臉。

2020 was an incredible year. Not one country was free from panic, nor one was not affected by the pandemic caused by Coronavirus.  Many people died because of it.  Many don’t even have a decent burial, or a memorial service.  Psalm 103:15-16 of the Bible describes mankind’s life like this: “As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more." When our physical body is completely destroyed, and it disappears without a trace, and we are forgotten, or are not recognized by this world, that is not 

 important.  The most important thing is that our name is in the book of life.  God recognizes us, and we have eternal life with God for all eternity.  Not the eternal punishment of eternal separation from God.  And in this life, God knows and cares for those who fear Him, from the beginning to the end of each year.  How blessed are those who fear Him!

“a land that the Lord your God cares for. 

The eyes of the Lord your God are always upon it, 

from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.”

- Deuteronomy 11:12 ESV

“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,

 on those who hope in his steadfast love,”

- Psalm 33:18 ESV

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, 

and his ears are open to their prayer. 

But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?

 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, 

you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,”

我不懼怕/I’m not afraid

不論我們正面對什麼樣的人生波瀾，雖然我們無法逃避這風浪，但要相信主耶穌基督，不要害怕，祂的同在必使我們平安經歷這風浪，穩渡彼岸。不管環境如何，只要向天父呼喊傾訴，躲在祂強壯的翅膀覆蔽下，或站在祂大能的膀臂上，祂必帶領我們面對一切，祂必為我們爭戰，祂必全然得勝。

“耶穌對他們說：「是我，不要怕！」

 門徒就喜歡接祂上船，

船立時到了他們所要去的地方。”

 - 約翰福音 6:20-21 

“「主耶和華啊，祢曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天地，

在祢沒有難成的事。”

- 耶利米書 32:17

“我在牀上記念祢， 在夜更的時候思想祢； 

我的心就像飽足了骨髓肥油， 我也要以歡樂的嘴唇讚美祢。

No matter what kind of waves we face in life, although we cannot escape the waves, but we can trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and not be afraid. His presence will enable us to go through the waves and cross to the other side of the shore safely.  Regardless of the circumstances we are in, as long as we cry out to our heavenly Father.  Hiding beneath of His strong wings, or standing on His mighty arms, He will lead us to face everything, He will fight the battle for us, and He will triumph totally.

“But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” 

Then they were glad to take him into the boat, 

and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.”

 - John 6:20-21 ESV

“‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth

白馬王子/Prince Charming

無論我們來自什麼樣的原生家庭，無論我們愛的語言是什麼，

當我們愛一個人的時候有一個普遍的現象，

那就是 - 

我們想要與這個人親近，我們想知道關於這個人更多的事情，

我們想要更加的了解這個人，我們想投其所好讓他開心以至於我們也快樂。

然而，我們愛人的時候，對方不一定會給予相同的回應，

即使是心中的白馬王子或白雪公主，都未必能達到我們的期待。

但我們愛神和親近神，祂也必親近我們，叫我們的喜樂可以滿足。

神是信實的，是公義的，是滿有慈愛不輕易發怒的，

祂的話絕不落空，我們對神付出的愛也不會落空，

祂愛我們必愛到底，因為神是愛，祂是愛的原創。

「你們親近神，神就必親近你們。」 - 雅各書 4:8a

「祂既然愛世間屬自己的人，就愛他們到底。」- 約翰福音 13:1b

「投靠耶和華，強似倚賴人； 投靠耶和華，強似倚賴王子。」

It doesn’t matter what family of origin we come from, nor does it matter what our love languages are, there is a universal phenomenon when we love someone.  

That is - 

we want to be close to this person, we want to know more things about this person, 

we want to know this person better, we want to do what that person likes 

to make them happy so that we are happy, too.  

However, when we love someone, the other party may not give the same response.

 Even the Prince Charming or Snow White in our hearts may not be able to meet our expectations.  But when we love and draw closer to God, 

He will draw closer to us so that our joy can be satisfied.  

God is faithful, righteous, full of love and does not get angry easily. 

His Word will never fail, nor will our love for God go in vain. 

He loves us to the end, because God is love and He is the originator of love.

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. ” - James 4:8 ESV

“Jesus ⋯having loved his own who were in the world, 

he loved them to the end.” - John 13:1 ESV

“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.” - Psalm 118:8-9 ESV

“But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.” - Psalm 73:28 ESV

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 

If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, 

just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

我只想哭/I just want to cry

有些人可能會讓您相信，既然您是基督徒，那麼一切都會一直都很好。 他們可能會說我們總是需要擺上笑臉並表現出快樂。 的確，上帝從不離棄我們或拋下我們。 但是，如果說作為基督徒的我們不會經歷心痛，我們永遠不會沮喪，也不會悲傷是不對的。 不用擔心，無論如何我們都可以來到上帝面前得憐憫得幫助。

Some people might lead you to believe that since you are a Christian everything should be fine all the time. They might say that we always need to put on a smile and act happy. It is true that God never leaves us or forsakes us; however it is not true that we as Christians won’t experience heartache, we won’t ever be down, and we won’t ever grieve. Don’t worry, we can come to God to receive mercy and for help no matter what.

“I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears;

 I drench my couch with my weeping.” - Psalm 6:6 ESV

“O Lord, all my longing is before you; my sighing is not hidden from you. 

My heart throbs; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes—it also has gone from me.”  - Psalm 38:9-10 ESV

禮物/gift

聖誕節的早上是許許多多家庭一起開聖誕禮物的時刻，每一份禮物都是一份關心與愛的表示。我們慈愛的天父也為我們準備了一份愛的禮物，就是賜給世人救主耶穌基督，罪使人們與神隔絕，神子耶穌基督帶來救贖，接受這份禮物的人就可以重新恢復與天父的關係，並賜下聖靈給信徒，若接受由聖靈來管理我們，聖靈就使我們成聖。神從不給任何禮物是不把祂自己也包含在其中的，因為祂只給予最完美最好的禮物，你接受這份來自神的禮物了嗎？

“各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，

從眾光之父那裏降下來的；

在祂並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。”

Christmas morning is a time for many families to open Christmas gifts together. Each gift is a sign of care and love.  Our loving heavenly Father has also prepared a gift of love for us. He has given His son, Jesus Christ the Savior to the world. Sin separates mankind from God. The Son of God brings redemption. Those who receive this gift can reconcile and restore their relationship with God.  He also sends the Holy Spirit to believers. The Holy Spirit brings us sanctification, if we allow him to manage our life. God does not give any gift that does not include Himself as a part of it. He only gives good and perfect gifts. Have you accepted this gift from God?

coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, 

who does not change like shifting shadows.”

平安夜/Silent Night

聖誕夜不僅是平安夜也是聖善夜，神降卑為人，以嬰孩之姿來到世上，小小耶穌安睡在馬槽，祂不張揚，不喧嚷，為做你我贖罪羔羊而來，為要帶來神與人之間的和平，賜平安喜樂給接受祂救恩的人，祂就是神自己道成肉身，願尊貴，榮耀與權能永永遠遠歸於祂。

“因有一嬰孩為我們而生； 有一子賜給我們。 政權必擔在他的肩頭上； 他名稱為「奇妙策士、全能的神、永在的父、和平的君」。” - 以賽亞書 9:6

“在至高之處榮耀歸與神！ 在地上平安歸與祂所喜悅的人 ！” - 路加福音 2:14

Christmas Eve is not just a silent night but also a holy night.  God humbled himself became flesh and came to this world as a baby.  Little Jesus was sleeping peacefully in the manger. He was mild and not clamoring. He came to be the atonement lamb for you and me, to bring peace between God and mankind.  To give peace and joy to those who accept His salvation. He is God Himself incarnated. May majesty, glory, honor and power belong to Him forever and ever.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” - Isaiah 9:6 ESV
