即或不然/Even If Not
這是今年的最後一天，多事之秋的一年即將過去。
未來一年又將如何我不知道，然而，我知道的是 -
當我們的眼目是仰望那創造宇宙萬物的主宰，三位一體的唯一真神時，
我們經歷的是出人意外的平安，我們知道我們是有指望，有盼望的。
盼望不是侷限於疫情快快過去，
而是，即或不然
我們仍然能夠像使徒保羅說的那樣：
「我並不是因缺乏說這話；我無論在甚麼景況都可以知足，這是我已經學會了。
我知道怎樣處卑賤，也知道怎樣處豐富；或飽足，或飢餓；或有餘，或缺乏，
隨事隨在，我都得了秘訣。 我靠着那加給我力量的，凡事都能做。」
（腓立比書 4:11-13 ）
所以我們不要憂愁，只要凡事謝恩，讚美主，
因從我們的主所得的喜樂是我們的力量。
“求祢照着祢使我們受苦的日子，
和我們遭難的年歲，叫我們喜樂。”
-詩篇 90:15
“祢以恩典為年歲的冠冕； 祢的路徑都滴下脂油，”
- 詩篇 65:11
「耶和華說：我知道我向你們所懷的意念是賜平安的意念，
不是降災禍的意念，要叫你們末後有指望。
你們要呼求我，禱告我，我就應允你們。
你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。」
- 耶利米書 29:11-13
This is the last day of the year, and this eventful year is about to pass.
I don’t know what the next year will bring.
However, what we do know is -
When our eyes are fixed upon the only true and triune God,
the Lord who created all things in the universe,
what we experience is peace and we know that we have hope.
This hope is not confined to hoping the pandemic will get over soon,
but, even if not,
we can be like the apostle Paul said: “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”(Philippians 4:11-13)
So let’s not be sorrowful, just give thanks in everything and praise the Lord,
because the joy from our Lord is our strength.
“You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with abundance.”

“Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
and for as many years as we have seen evil.”
- Psalm 90:15 ESV
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me,
and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me,
when you seek me with all your heart.”
